School Break Activities
Thanksgiving Break: November 26 - 28
Holiday Break: December 26 - January 2
Looking for a fun, affordable destination for school breaks? Visit the Museum for lots of family-friendly activities that will keep the kids (and you!) busy and happy.
Glassblowing, Flameworking, and Glassbreaking
We’ve got more live, narrated glass shows than ever before! Watch as molten glass is transformed into beautiful blown glass objects at the Hot Glass Show. Throughout the day you’ll also find Glassbreaking and Flameworking Demos. All shows are included in the price of admission.
Make Your Own Glass
Enjoy extended Make Your Own Glass hours. Try your hand at glassmaking (additional fee). Projects exist for all ages. We recommend booking ahead of time (http://reservations.cmog.org).
You Design It; We Make It! Submit a drawing of something you’d like to see come alive in glass. At select Hot Glass Shows throughout the day, glassmakers will choose a drawing and make that piece from start to finish.
How'd They Do That?
Many of today’s glassmaking techniques have been used by glassmakers for thousands of years. Watch as the Museum’s master glassmakers look at an object from the Museum’s collection and show you how the original glassmakers made that piece.
Kid-Friendly Audio Tours
Kids and teens (19 and under) can learn about the collection with our Audio Guides (free when an adult in their group rents one for $3). The family-friendly version of the Audio Tour talks about objects in a fun, easy-to-understand way.
See Two Stunning Exhibitions
It's also a chance to see two great exhibitions:
